Legit work at home jobs

There are many so-called opportunities online. It is tough to sift through the scams and the real ones. I was getting tired of seeing the same ads online promising that I would retire in a year, make $250,000 in 60 days, etc. You’ve heard them all too. As I was searching for more tools to jump start my internet marketing career, I was also looking at opportunities online that would give me more steady pay until I did hit it big. That is when I came across this little gem.

I was a little sceptical at first. I was pleasantly surprised when I got into the members’ area. There is a huge menu of opportunity categories. The “real jobs” are jobs such as telemarketers, data entry clerks, virtual secretaries, email responders, editors, tutors, and much more. Some pay a set wage per hour, some pay per job, some pay on a sliding scale. With most of these positions, you have to submit a resume an cover letter.

Then there is the paid for surveys, blogging, email, etc. Generally, you sign up for sites where you complete surveys, read email, etc. from companies and you get a money for doing it. Personally I like AdPaid for viewing and completing offers for cash. My favorite forum site that pays for your posts is MyLot. But, I haven’t looked at them all, so I’m sure there are some good ones I’m missing.

What I really like about the site is all the great information about making money online. I learned more about article marketing here in a day than I did over the last six months. There is also advice on making money with pictures, typing ads for companies, and how to get government grants.

While I am building my online business, this online job site will help me along until the day that I can flip my marketing efforts on autopilot and enjoy the surf.

New Deals At Mammal Hosting

It is difficult to find a good hosting company. There are so many to choose from with many different offers. It can become very confusing with all the choices. But there is one that is designed for the small business and individual. Mammal Hosting, and new company that will become an important name in web hosting and domain registration.

Right now, there is deal at Mammal Hosting for $1.99 domain names with any non-domain purchase. In addition, send a message to admin@mammalhosting.com with “I want a discount” in the subject line, and you will receive discount codes for 5%, 10%, or 15% off your order depending on your total price.

Included with the $1.99 domain name and your discount, you get all sorts of free stuff like a free website builder, free email, free blog, and much more. If you don’t get anything more than a $9.99 (full price without non-domain purchase) you do get free ad supported hosting for your website…again with all the freebies.

Now is the time to get your domain name at Mammal Hosting. I don’t know how much longer the specials will last.

First try at affiliate marketing

I entered into the world of affiliate marketing through VMC Satellite.  My job was to give away Dish Network satellite TV systems. It doesn’t seem too hard. Everyone watches TV. Satellite is a great choice. Like I said before, I was given a website that is exactly like thousands of others, with a different affiliate extension on the end of the URL.

I followed the instructions – written for a newbie like me – the best I could with limited knowledge of internet marketing. I expected my site to turn up in Google in no time. Well, that didn’t happen.

I was able to draw a good amount of traffic from the traffic exchange site TrafficSwarm. It’s a very simple idea. You get 1-5 credits for viewing other websites for 20 seconds each. Those credits are used to show other people your website. As a free member, you get credits just for opening the home page. It’s a great concept with instant results. Not only did I drive traffic to my site, I was able to see all the other affiliate sites out there, as well as get a taste of the marketing tools that were available. That is when I started to get the real picture of internet marketing.

I then read that I should promote Dish Network on my website. Well, I didn’t have a website. I was in college at the time working on science degree. So, I thought that I could create a website to help other college students in my particular field. I started a free website with very limited content and put up a banner for my Dish Network site. I eventually purchased a domain name and added a little more to my website. I still didn’t get any results.

For about six months or so, I visited TrafficSwarm on a regular basis to keep my credits up. I got a nice amount of hits, but no sales. At that point, I kinda got bored of the whole thing, and pretty much forgot about it. A couple years later, the quest would be revived.

How an internet marketer is made

My quest started about three years ago when I saw an affiliate ad somewhere online. The offer was a nice commission for each satellite system given away. It looked so easy. You get a free website and you give something away. So, I did it. I knew nothing about internet marketing. I never heard of SEO, meta tags, page rank, etc. It didn’t dawn on me that I was getting the exact same website thousands of other affiliates had, with a different affiliate number on the end of the URL.

Even though it sounds ugly in the beginning, I don’t regret it. I am still no internet millionare, but I am learning more every day, which brings me one step closer to making a living online. I will lay it all out for you here so that you can learn from my mistakes and learn some of the truths about making money on the internet.
